Our client is looking for a Kubernetes Infrastructure Manager to lead the US branch of the international Container Ecosystem (Kubernetes) team. This is a true “DevOps” team, where the team is responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and 24/7 operation of the services. You will run the day-to-day operations of the team, delivering on the product roadmap as well as the day-to-day operations of the platform itself.
Responsibilities
- Inspire engineering and operational excellence, including excellent customer service
- Partner with Product to ensure alignment on vision and direction
- Ensure that priorities are clear for the team, and that the right processes are in place for work to be visible and executed efficiently.
- Ensure the right processes exist for production issues to be handled within SLA, and for user support questions to be handled in a timely manner
- Review and improve day to day process though observation and retrospective. Note that collaborating with team members across various time zones brings unique challenges.
- Partner with the other Platform teams to ensure we are providing a cohesive platform for developers, and not a series of silos that are hobbled together.
Qualifications
Required
- Excellent grasp of computer science and software engineering fundamentals
- Extensive experience in leading teams / larger projects with the ability to work with, understand, and motivate people
- Experience with cloud computing and SaaS
- Exceptional interpersonal skills: open-minded, team player, result oriented, motivated to work in an international and intercultural environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
Preferred
- University degree in computer science, engineering or similar area
- Kubernetes experience
- AWS experience
- Experience with working with international teams
- Experience with coaching teams in technology (e.g. as principal) and agile methods (e.g. as scrum master)
- Experience in building and operating platform services for business applications
Work Experience
- At least 10 years of experience in software engineering
- At least 2 years of experience in managing people
